TWENTY FIRST

A utopian community art project commissioned by the Dublin Fringe Festival for their twenty first birthday, produced and facilitated by Dan Colley.

 Fringe Lab Rats are a collective of twenty-one year old artists who were’

invited by Dublin Fringe Festival to come together and disrupt and

upend the usual bounds of the festival, and to celebrate their

twenty firsts together.

TWENTY FIRST was their offering.

For 6 days they lived and worked in a human sized lab rat cage.

This rat cage was a utopia – a community, with no internet or phones

with a ball pool and a big dinner table, with no responsibilities

except to tell the stories of Dublin’s twenty-one year olds.

And not to be a dick.
